Philip Corallo-Titus

Clearing rocks on weekends from his family’s soon to be vineyard north of St. Helena didn’t exactly make teenager Phillip Corallo-Titus dream of a life in wine. But eventually French wine shared with his parents at the dinner table began to make Phillip reconsider his choice of a possible career. At UC Davis, Phillip studied agronomy, viticulture and enology.

A four year stint at Chappellet as Assistant Winemaker starting in 1981 was followed by other winemaking opportunities at Stratford and Cartlidge & Brown wineries. Then in 1990 Donn Chappellet offered Phillip the position of winemaker back on Pritchard Hill, where he’s been ever since. He also oversees the winemaking at Titus his family’s winery.

Gary Lipp became friends with Phillip when Gary worked at Chappellet starting in 2007 while COHO was restarting after the Mare Island Fire. To Gary’s delight Phillip agreed to lead the winemaking team for COHO in 2014 when Brooks Painter sold his interest in COHO.
